What is
Spyware?
Spyware is
a general term used for software that performs certain
behaviors such as advertising, collecting personal
information, or changing the configuration of your
computer, generally without appropriately obtaining your
consent. It will also at times cause your computer to
crash. Since Spyware creators really don't care about
you, their software at times is badly made and can cause
CD-ROMS, Printers, Scanners and other devices not to
work correctly or not at all!
Spyware is
often referred to as Malware, Adware and Scumware among
other not so nice terms. While certain programs can help
rid your computer of infections, Spyware will often drop
a virus on your computer as well. The objective of the
virus is to watch over it's "child" and reinstall it
upon reboot making removal very difficult. The programs
listed below will greatly improve the reliability of
your computer as well as help you remove the unwanted
guests.
