Have
you
ever
been
prompted
to
close
open
programs
before
installing
new
software?
Find
out
how
and
why
this
happens.
At
the
bottom
of
your
screen
should
be
your
Windows
Taskbar,
which
contains
your
Start
menu,
System
Tray,
Quick
Launch
bar,
and
all
open
applications
or
documents.
To
close
any
open
application,
right-click
it
in
your
Taskbar
and
select
Close.
Do
this
for
each
open
program.
If
you
don't
see
any
open
programs
or
documents
listed
in
your
Taskbar,
you
don't
have
to
close
anything.
only
the
installation
application
for
the
program
you're
trying
to
install
should
be
listed.
You
should
also
disable
any
antivirus
program
you
may
have
running
on
your
computer.
Some
antivirus
programs,
such
as
Norton
AntiVirus,
think
the
installation
of a
new
program
is
actually
a
virus
trying
to
infect
your
PC.
If
your
antivirus
program
is
on,
it
should
show
up
in
your
System
Tray
next
to
your
clock.
Just
right-click
your
antivirus
icon
and
choose
to
disable
it.
If
it
doesn't
have
a
disable
option,
launch
your
antivirus
program
and
run
through
the
steps
to
disable
it.
After
you've
installed
the
program,
re-enable
your
antivirus
software.
