Outlook Express Tips

OUTLOOK EXPRESS

DC means Double Click
LC means Left Click
RC means Right Click

To Connect to the Internet:
1.     DC Left on PC Whatever Icon on Desktop
2.     LC on Connect- look for (2) green computer icons in the lower right hand corner
3.     NOW YOU ARE CONNECTED!

For Searching on the Internet:
DC Left on the BIG E icon on the desktop

OUTLOOK EXPRESS: You must be connected to Internet to Read or Send Email!
TO READ EMAIL:
DC Left on Outlook Express Icon on the Desktop
The Inbox will come up to read mail.

TO SEND EMAIL:
DC Left on Outlook Express Icon on the desktop
LC X1 on New Mail. In New Message type persons email address in the TO, Outlook will finish it for you.
SUBJECT ALWAYS

SEND ATTACHMENTS:
LCX1 on "INSERT" next to VIEW in upper taskbar
LCX1 on FILE ATTACHMENT
"Look In" box, look for the arrow just to the right LCX1 to locate the file or pictures ie; My Documents, Floppy or CD-Rom or CD-RW Disk.
Once you find the location, LCX1 to highlight, NOTICE file appears in the File Name area.
LCX1 on ATTACH- It now appears in the email under the Subject Area.

Type message in the body of the email.
LC X 1 on SEND- Norton’s Antivirus will check outgoing and incoming mail.

ADDRESS BOOK
LC X 1 on address book
LC X 1 on NEW
LC X 1 on NEW CONTACT

Type the persons First and Last name (Remember this is for you to recognize the person so it can be a nick name or first name with last name initial.
DELETE the name in the DISPLAY area by:
LC X 1 on display area, it is now highlighted, click delete on the keyboard.

LC X 1 in the E-Mail address area and type in the person’s email address then LC X 1 on ADD
There you go, you added a person (contact) to your address book!

If you have placed folders under the Inbox area: You can Hold the Left Key down and Drag and Drop into the Persons Folder.
